Magic Through The Mirror is book one of my new series On The Other Side. It's categorized as Young Adult and new in Fairytale Fantasy Books. It's fun and full of Adventure.
It's about Rachel an orphan girl with a tragically dramatic past who finds herself in a rigid and miserable academy for girls. She dreams of an escape where she can start a new life. She and her best and only friend find a way for her to break free. Once outside, she discovers a deep secret and multiple fairy tale universes far beyond her limits of comprehension. Will she stay or give it up?
Here's an excerpt from MAGIC THROUGH THE MIRROR. I hope you enjoy it!
Once the door was closed, Hannah fell to her knees and looked at Rachel’s hair littered all over the floor. A single tear escaped her eye, knowing how much she would miss her friend. She took some of the hair and tucked it under the books on her nightstand, and the rest she put in the garbage. She wiped the tears away from her eyes and sat patiently on the bed, waiting for Rachel, promising herself she would make her last moments with Rachel the best.
After a whole seven hours of switching between running and walking, she started to jog, then walk, and then she finally saw the boys’ school ahead. “There it is,” she said to herself, “at last.” After a short rest to watch the sun rise above the school’s towers, she knocked on the front door and was brought into her new life...

How old were you when you wrote Magic Through The Mirror, On The Other Side?
I was eleven but it wasn’t until I was twelve when I found my publisher and was able to finish the editing and publishing process.
What inspired you to write this book?
I had Rachel’s character on my mind and I was curious on how her story would unfold. As I usually don’t have a plot planned out in advance, I wanted to write her story freely as no realistic situation has a step-by-step plan, and neither does Rachel’s life.
How did you come up with the characters?
I went on my first instinct with details that seemed to fit the character development and story line. For example, with Rachel, my idea was for her to be a lonely and disrespectful student with poor grades.
What do you hope readers will get from reading your book?
I hope readers will feel inspired, curious and develop a thirst for reading.
Why should someone buy your book?
My book offers an escape into a fun universe with unexpected twists, shocking turns and adventure.
Tell me something not in the synopsis.
A secondary plot develops with a competitive love triangle that causes tension and hate between two very important characters.
Young author Aria Trueman, at age 11 writes her first book Magic Through The Mirror.
"Worth Buying: Yes (9+)
First and Foremost, the author of Magic Through the Mirror is a twelve-year-old French student, which in itself desires recognition. Magic Through the Mirror, is a highly imaginative Young Adult story about a girl named Rachel Free Angel, who has lived behind the walls of a boarding school since she was five years old. Labeled as a brat and a trouble maker, Rachel is determined to start a new life in a Boarding School for boys. Dressed as a boy, Rachel and her roommate, Leo, soon become best friends. Together, they discover their evil schoolmaster, Sir Evergreen's secret room hidden in their school. The secret room contains a magical mirror that allows Leo and Rachel to travel in and out of multiple fairytale stories such as Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Snow White, and Rapunzel. Together, the two discover a secret about Sir Evergreen's evil past, will they choose to reveal his secrets or stay in the magic mirror, forever?"
The New England Book Critic
"In MAGIC THROUGH THE MIRROR by Aria Raposo Trueman, Rachel and Leo find a way to traverse dimensions and insert themselves into a series of familiar fairy tales. With an intriguing premise of adolescents traveling into well-known stories like Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, MAGIC THROUGH THE MIRROR by Aria Raposo Trueman holds much promise and is at its strongest when framed by poetic lines such as "frozen in a sea of sadness."

"I was so excited to receive this book and couldn’t wait to get started reading it. At the beginning of the book I thought this in a way reminds me of a fairytale, but wait there’s more, so much more! Once Rachel leaves the school thinking she is leaving for a better life this is when the party gets started or rather the fairytales commence. I loved it. I love the imagination of this author. I love the details. The original plot lines ,the secondary characters and I can’t wait for book two. I can’t even imagine what Miss Aria has in store for us. Although I think this is a young adult, I am 47 and I loved it and can’t wait for book two! Oh yes, I said that! I think anyone who loves fairytales and the impossible becoming possible will love this book."

This very imaginative novel has as its central character, Rachel who despite having a harrowing start to her life is determined to do things her way with little regard for the consequences. Along the way she falls into multiple fairy tale universes where things get really interesting. This book was a fun read and once the adventures start you won't be able to put it down. I highly recommend it.
